Here are the major notification types you can expect to receive:
A friend starts or joins room. When a friend creates or joins room, you’ll get a notification to join in. Heads up, if you’re the first person to join a room, you’ll automatically be on stage as a speaker! If you join after a second person has joined already, you’ll go in as an audience member.
A friend is speaking. When a friend is speaking in a room, you’ll get notified so you can choose to join.
A friend shares a room. When someone you follow shares a room in their hallway, you’ll get a notification to check it out!
Live rooms are conversations happening right now, where groups of friends or members of communities are talking about a specific topic – or none at all. Rooms can be closed to just your friends, to friends of friends, or they may be open to everyone if they’re based on a user’s interests or if they are created in a House that’s open to everyone.
To hide who you are most recently chatting with from your profile and from the explore tab, simply go to your account settings and toggle on the “hide recently chatting” option. This will hide all chats from your profile. Please note that when this privacy setting is selected, you will not be able to see or like who your friends are chatting with.
If you have your activity hidden, and you are chatting with a friend whose VM activity isn’t hidden, your VM will not show on your profile or explore feed.
Note: when this setting is enabled, you will not be able to see or like who your friends are chatting with.

The age requirement to use Clubhouse for a teenager (age 13-18) will depend on the laws in their country.
Generally, in most countries, a user needs to be at least thirteen (13) years old to use Clubhouse. In some countries, however, someone may not be allowed to use Clubhouse until a they are older than 13, or even at least 18 years old!
It’s a good idea for teens to check with a parent or guardian before signing up for Clubhouse about whether or not they are old enough to use the platform, and to chat about how to stay safe online. Learn more about safety features and tips in our Teen Safety Center.

Clubhouse takes intellectual property rights seriously and we will temporarily disable or terminate the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe or are repeatedly charged with infringing copyrights or other intellectual property rights.
If you’re a copyright owner or authorized to act on behalf of one, you can report alleged copyright infringements by sending your DMCA Notice of Alleged Infringement to our designated agent or by completing our copyright form. Only the copyright owner or their authorized representative may file a report of copyright infringement. If you believe something on Clubhouse infringes someone else’s copyright, you may want to let the rights owner know.
If we remove content in response to a DMCA notice, we may notify the infringing Clubhouse user so they have the opportunity to send a counter-notice. We may also send a complete copy of the notice to others, as appropriate.

If you’ve received a notification that your content has been removed for a copyright complaint, it means the content owner asked us to remove it. If your account gets too many copyright complaints, your account could be temporarily suspended or permanently disabled.
If you think we made a mistake in removing your content, you can file a counter-notice. When we get a valid counter-notice, we’ll remove the complaint from your account’s record.
Note: There are legal and financial consequences for fraudulent or bad faith counter-notices. Before submitting a counter-notice, make sure you have a good faith belief that we removed the content in error, and that you understand the repercussions of submitting a false claim.
